Rio de Janeiro

The name "Rio de Janeiro" is derived from the name of the river Rio and the month of January (Janeiro).  It is the second largest port in cargo handling in Brazil.  It has grown into one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world.

While in Rio de Janeiro, we visited Praia do Leblon, Praia de Ipanema, Arpoador, Praia de Copacabana, Corcovado, and Pao de Açucar
