Foz Do Iguaçu

Located in the western Paraná region of southern Brazil called Três Fronteiras or Three Borders, Foz do Iguaçu is a major tourist destination.  It has a population of over 200,000 people with an influx of approximately 900,000 tourists during the busy season.  The Perana River and River Iguazu form a natural boundary to three countries.  Foz do Iguaçu Brazil and Ciudad del Este Paraguay are situated across from each other on the Perana River.  Puerto Iguazu Argentina is across from Foz do Iguaçu on the south side of the River Iguazu.

Iguaçu Falls in one of the main attractions.  There are over 300 cataracts in a 3 km area which are multi-layered and situated in a heavily forested area.  The Falls can be seen on both the Brazilian and Argentine sides.
